Mobile Clinics and Outreach:

The Mobile Clinic makes an average of two outreaches per week to rural areas within 3 hours drive of Tenwek Hospital. This in-reach into our community identifies those suffering from eye diseases, provides immediate treatment when possible, and arranges for surgery at the base hospital when indicated. Over 100 outreaches were conducted in 2013. Five extended surgical outreaches were made to East Pokot, Samburu, Meru, Aweil (S Sudan), and Tonj (S Sudan). These extended outreaches enhanced the ministries already present and active in each of these locations. Over 700 cataract and other eye surgeries were performed with these outreaches.
